We recognize that the barriers holding women back are systemic and overlapping: limited access to productive resources and income, poor maternal and reproductive health, restricted voice in community leadership, weak access to markets and finance, and the constant realities of poverty and hunger. These challenges ripple far beyond the women themselves, undermining the wellbeing of their children, families, and the wider society. When rural women are held back, entire communities are held back. CARA exists to change this.
What We Do

Dignified Livelihood
We empower vulnerable women, youth, and marginalized communities to achieve economic independence and resilience. Through agricultural value-chain strengthening, skills development, entrepreneurship support and financial inclusion, we create pathways to sustainable income and long-term stability.
Healthy and Safe Communities
We strengthen access to quality health services and promote safe, protective environments for vulnerable populations. Through sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence prevention, mental health awareness, and community systems strengthening, we support communities to live healthy, safe, and stigma-free lives.
Inclusive Leadership
We promote inclusive and accountable leadership by strengthening the voices of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups in decision-making processes. Through capacity building, civic engagement, and advocacy, we support governance systems that are transparent, responsive, and equitable.
Evidence and Innovation
We drive impact through data, research, and adaptive innovation. By strengthening monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management, and evidence-based decision-making, we translate insights into practical solutions that improve programmes, influence policy, and scale sustainable impact.
